I want to do something similar for OFFTR to introduce them to the audience as some people may not know them.I like how they film the show footage as they show the crowd as well and would like to incorporate this into my documentary. I also like how in this documentary they show where he established himself, he goes back to places where he made some of his first songs and it gives a personal touch to get to know him and where he came from.

RESEARCH PORTFOLIO: Kali Uchis
AN AFTERNOON WITH KALI UCHIS
I like the follow around aspect of this documentary, documenting her at her photoshoots as well as before and after her show. I want to use this in my documentary following around the artists of OFFTR as they prepare for their releases and shows. I also like how the camera quality switches from quite professional quality to more phone camera quality. As I am a part of OFFTR I have a lot of previous footage from the years of us being together, because camera quality doesn't really matter unless its live performances I would be able to look through the archives for extra footage for the documentary.

JORJA SMITH - BECOMING JORJA SMITH
I really like the ascetic of this documentary. From this I want to use similar stylistic shots, setting up interesting backgrounds for the artists I'm interviewing to just be themselves in whilst also looking ascetically pleasing. Im probably only planning on focusing on BEAAUXX and Xander! from off the rails as I think focusing on all members might be confusing.

RESEARCH PORTFOLIO: Iamddb
48 HOURS WITH IAMDDB
This documentary was also done before she had much of a following. I like how the style of it was white casual. Although it was still professional she still had the freedom to be her natural silly self and show her personality which is what I want to do for OffTheRails. Because OFFTR don't have much of a following I want people to get to know them so that they build more of a fan base.

RESEARCH PORTFOLIO: Jimothy Lacoste
JIMOTHY LACOSTE: LIFE IS GETTING QUITE EXCITING
I found this documentary to be interesting because Jimothy Lacoste has a very niche audience, its smaller than the rest of the artists I have looked at which puts him on a similar scale to OffTheRails. I mainly wanted to take the end credits from this. He walks into a takeaway shop and a music video begins as the credits are rolled. I wanted to do this as I am very close with all of OffTheRails as I am a member. I could easily organize this and it would add an interesting end to the documentary, ending it on a light and happy note.
As seen in the photo below I already have a song in mind that we are all featured on and I have already contacted them so that we can get this organized.

RESEARCH PORTFOLIO: Awful Records
AWFUL DAYS: A DOCUMENTARY ABOUT AWFUL RECORDS
I looked at this documentary because it is about a collective of solo artist who call themselves awful records, similar to OffTheRails: The collective. I felt as though the audience of this documentary would be fans and also people who aren't really familiar with them. They explained everyone in the group and their dynamic which shows that even if you did not know the group you'd still be able to watch this and follow along. I wanted to take that from this as OffTheRails don't have much of a following yet as they are still trying to make it. I also liked how they cut from their interviews to their music videos, clearly showing what each persons personality is like and what kind of music they made. I found this documentary visually stimulating as their were loads of fast cuts and id like to do the same with my documentary.
